GLITCHES AND HALLUCINATIONS

To be human is to discern what truth means, navigating the blurred lines between reality and illusion. This body of work begins with the tradition of romantic landscape painting, exploring how abstraction and immediacy evoke shifting, fractured, and ultimately, unattainable realities. By blending traditional alla prima techniques with digital processes, I draw parallels between painted landscapes, the constructed environments of video games, and the fabricated worlds generated by AI. In these works, AI “hallucinations”—distortions or false outputs—challenge our perception of truth, just as abstraction in painting invites a subjective experience. Both mediums confront illusion, questioning what constitutes reality and how we engage with it.
